TRANSPORTATION FEDERAL CREDIT UNION CELEBRATES 2025 ANNUAL MEETING

Alexandria, VA (May 21, 2025): Transportation Federal Credit Union (Transportation FCU) proudly hosted its 2025 Annual Meeting, bringing together members and staff to reflect on the past year’s accomplishments, recognize outstanding individuals, and elect new leadership.   

The event highlighted the credit union’s commitment to financial empowerment, community service, and member engagement. Key moments from the meeting included the announcement of this year’s Miriam Lieb Memorial Scholarship and Dare to Soar Writing Contest recipient, as well as the results of the 2025 Board of Directors election.

Miriam Lieb Memorial Scholarship Recipients  

Named in honor of long-time credit union advocate Miriam Lieb, this prestigious scholarship awards individuals who embody the spirit of selfless service and dedication to the credit union’s mission.

The (5) 2025 recipients were:

  • Laniyah Duncan
  • Vainavi Gambhir  
  • Caitlyn Hickman
  • Thaymiluz Santos Tang
  • Brianna Smith

Each recipient will receive an $1,000 scholarship.

Dare to Soar Writing Contest Recipients

The credit union was proud to award the grand prize and runner-up winners for the Dare to Soar Writing Contest. The contest empowers middle-school students to utilize their creativity and explore careers in transportation.

The winners of the contest were:

  • Aydina Johnson – Grand Prize Winner
  • Bailey Coleman – Runner- Up Winner
  • Tiago Toledo – Runner – Up Winner

The grand prize winner will receive $500 and the runner-up winners will receive $250. Each winner additionally will receive a $100 donation to their school.
