Dare to Soar Writing Competition Now Open
Do you know a middle school student who is interested in aviation or engineering? Our new Dare to Soar Writing Competition is designed just for them!
Application Deadline April 15th!
We are looking for middle school students ages 11-13 who are interested in the thousands of science, technology, education, and math-related careers available at the US Department of Transportation and Federal Aviation Administration.
To enter, simply submit an original essay in 600-800 words and include a visual art piece sent as a JPEG, EPG, or a physical version that answers the prompt below. All applications should have both pieces together with their entry.
STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Think about each of these subjects
and choose the one you enjoy the most. Write a short essay explaining which STEM subject is your
favorite and why. You can talk about what makes it fun, what you’ve learned, and how you might
use it in the future.
Then, draw a picture of yourself using that subject in real life — like doing an experiment, building something, solving a problem, or using cool technology!

Contest winners will be announced in May and invited to the Transportation Federal Credit Union Annual Meeting in Alexandria, VA.
